Abstract

This particular research examined the impact of psychosocial training on university students’ entrepreneurial engagement, taking into account the Andean worldviews of Ayllu, Ayni, and Pacha, which promote reciprocity, community, and harmony with nature. The main objective was to determine the impact of psychosocial training on entrepreneurial participation thru extracurricular activities at a public university in northern Peru. The sample consisted of 222 respondents who were students in the Management program at the School of Management and Tourism. A quasi-experimental pre- and post-test design was employed, evaluating psychosocial entrepreneurial competencies across the seven dimensions of Interest, Value, Educational, Disposition, Intention, Action, Mentorship, and Expectations. The results revealed significant effects on entrepreneurial participation (Z = 18.1139; p < 0.000, r = 0.54) and improvements in motivation, value, educational, action, entrepreneurial, and mentorship dimensions, with a large effect size (r² ≈ 29.2%). Therefore, the study results indicate that psychosocial training, in a culturally situated context, advocates for a transformational pedagogy based on Andean principles that promotes community and sustainability.
